It is remarkable that Metallica has become the first group to officially become a charity, in which they donate some of their earnings through T-shirt, music and concert sales to the less fortunate to help during some of the most challenging times people go through in their lives.

Metallica are one of the top four heavyweight thrash metal groups, giving back to the community and society, especially wherever they play live throughout the world.

Over the past decade the cost-of-living has encroached on many layers of the social food chain that Metallica with their huge following and success want to show their appreciation and gratitude to highlight difficult subjects such as the high suicide levels in the male population, and making sure people have food by donating to the ever increasing amount of food banks, and soup kitchens that provide hot soup for the homeless.

Before Metallica come on stage to perform for their faithful followers and in between opening support acts, they show homemade social media style videos highlighting the difficulties people are facing and what they’ve done to try and elevate this heartache that people are finding themselves in.

James Hetfield often says in interviews and even during their live set that music saved his life and many years ago when they played a live set in America’s most violent and notorious San Quentin prison in California that he could have ended up serving time with the prison audience population.

If the world’s billionaires actually followed the example set out by Metallica the world would not have homeless people starving to death on the streets of some of the world’s most expensive parts of global leading cities.

Hats off to Metallica for actually doing something instead of putting up their feet and retiring from the world in their mansions.

James Hetfield does make a point at their live concerts, what do you do while being 64 years old? Well, sir, just keep doing what you like and not only giving to your faithful music followers but to the less fortunate.

You see, heavy metal music isn’t just loud and heavy, but it pushes through society as Metallica shows.

Hopefully the world leaders will end homelessness, poverty and all of the social ills that are connected to this most evil cost-of-living crisis many feel across the world!
