The Iron Lady is a true story about the only British female Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher played excellently by Meryl Streep. She led the country after winning the 1979 general election and was ousted out by her party led by Michael Heseltine in 1990.

During her Premiership she sold or closed State owned businesses, took on the trade unions, and deregulated business, especially the financial sector that saw Canary Wharf built that is now the capital for the world financial sector. Her downfall was due to her Poll Tax policy!
